STAKEHOLDERSThere is a multitude of stakeholders in the case study of Boko Haram in the counterterrorism in Africa movement. The main stakeholder is the Christian government in Nigeria that is systematically losing territory to this terrorist organization. Another prominent stakeholder is the lawful citizens of that government. These citizens are routinely losing family members to instances of kidnapping at the hands of this organization (Burke, 2016). They are also being injured and murdered by the terrorist efforts of this organization (Urmacher and Sheridan, 2016). Finally, Boko Haram itself is a stakeholder in this case study. Its very livelihood depends on engaging in the very acts of terror that this case study is seeking to counteract and ultimately, undermine.

ROLES IN THE EVALUATION PROCESS

The roles in the evaluation process of the Nigerian government is pivotal to the success of this case study. It must comply with the needs of the researchers. Specifically, it should agree to deliver call records, information from text messages, and data from email that pertain to terrorist activity. That way the researchers can determine the relationship between these media channels (and others) and terrorist activities. Doing so will allow...

It is the role of the Nigerian citizens to rapidly report any instances of terrorism. Ideally, they could do so prior to these acts actually emerging. Therefore, they can help to provide additional intelligence that can in the connection between media analysis and terrorist events. This group has the most to gain from this study. The government has the next most to gain from the study because it will have hegemony over its land. Boko Haram is the final stakeholder that has interest in this research study and in the evaluation results. This study and its results could mitigate the effectiveness of this organization in carrying out terrorism opportunities.
ETHICAL ISSUES

The primary ethical issues that should be considered in this case study analysis pertain to privacy. Monitoring the communication of individuals involved with Boko Haram or associated with them could potentially compromise the privacy of ordinary citizens in Nigeria. It might be difficult to determine who is part of the organization or not, and this sort of pervasive monitoring could impact the privacy of those not involved with this organization.
